Water bills can often feel confusing, with multiple charges and complex breakdowns. We simplify everything with clear, transparent billing so you can quickly understand your costs.

Understanding Your Water Bill

Business Name

The legal name of the business that holds the water services account and is responsible for payment.

Billing Address

The address where the invoice is sent. This may differ from the location where the water services are supplied.

Account Number

A unique reference number assigned to your business by Intelligent Water. It helps us quickly identify your account when dealing with billing or customer service queries.

Total Invoice Amount

The total amount due for the billing period after all charges, adjustments, and discounts have been applied.

Your Water/Waste Supply (SPID) Numbers

SPID stands for Supply Point Identification.
Water SPID: Identifies your water connection.
Waste SPID: Identifies your wastewater connection.
These numbers show which supply points the charges on your bill relate to.

Property Address

The location where the water and wastewater services are supplied.

Discount Against Default Rates

Any savings or negotiated discount applied to your charges compared with the standard market or wholesale rates.

Last Two Meter Readings

Your previous and current meter readings. These are used to calculate how much water your business used during the billing period.

Fixed Water Charge (Monthly)

A standing charge for maintaining your water supply connection. This cost does not change with usage.

Fixed Wastewater Charge (Monthly)

A monthly charge for access to wastewater services. This is separate from usage-based charges.

Water Used (m³)

The total volume of water your business used during the billing period, measured in cubic metres.

Cost of Water Used

The charge for the water consumed, calculated using the volumetric rate multiplied by the amount of water used.

Volumetric Wastewater Used (in m³)

The estimated or measured volume of wastewater your property returned to the sewer system.

Cost of Volumetric Wastewater Used (in m³)

The charge based on the volume of wastewater generated, using the applicable volumetric rate.

Cost of Property Drainage for the Month

A charge for draining rainwater and surface water from your property into the sewer network. This is usually based on your property’s Rateable Value (RV) or surface area.

Total Cost of the Invoice for the Month

The final amount due, combining fixed charges, volumetric charges, drainage charges, and applying any discounts.
